Five of the Most Dreamy Beaches in the World – Test Your Swimwear!
It’s summer.
You have saved up for your summer vacation, and you have friends to travel with. You just bought your dream bikini (or several) and a trendy cover-up. You even have the matching accessories ready: a large sun hat, cute flip-flops, and a nice (and sturdy!) beach bag to store all your essentials. The only thing missing?
The location!
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here are five of the most dreamy beaches in the world where you can spend a truly unforgettable summer.
Whitehaven Beach, Queensland, Australia
Protected by the Whitsunday Islands National Park, Whitehaven Beach is an eco-friendly coastal stretch (about 4.4 miles) located in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef.
As one of Australia’s most famous beaches, this seaside paradise is a visual delight. The turquoise and blue waters are complemented by the almost luminous white sand (which is said to consist of 98% pure white quartz). The area features a number of bays, lagoons, and estuaries. Add a sunny, clear blue sky, and voila! You have a truly stunning summer backdrop.
The remote location also means that the spot is rarely overcrowded, which is ideal if you want to relax and unwind. To get there, you can take a seaplane, a ferry, a high-speed catamaran, or the Sunlander train (which runs four times a week from Brisbane to Cairns).
Camps Bay, Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town is likely one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and Camps Bay – the most popular beach in Cape Town – shares that beauty. Imagine: gorgeous white sand, beautiful turquoise water, and a bright blue sky – all against the backdrop of the Twelve Apostles mountain range and Table Mountain.
Whether you’re an aspiring photographer, a total pro, or just a snap-happy smartphone user, the view is definitely worth several photos.
Please note that the water can be a bit cooler due to the currents in the Atlantic. You’ll get used to it after a while, but we recommend bringing a warm kaftan or cover-up.
Navagio Beach, Zakynthos, Greece
Navagio Beach is another beach that almost everyone knows – or at least has seen. Although it is a bit difficult to reach, it is a popular filming location and has served as a backdrop for several scenes in numerous films.
This C-shaped bay features many attractions worth visiting: bright white sand, beautiful blue water, striking limestone cliffs, and an old legend. It is said that the Navagio Beach – also known as Shipwreck Beach – is home to the wreck of the Panagiotis, a supposed smuggler's ship from the 1980s.
If you want to splash around in the sea or sunbathe in an area full of cultural myths and natural wonders, this is the place for you. Don’t forget to snap a photo of the ship.
Na Pali Coast, Kauai, Hawaii
The Na Pali Coast, stretching over 17 miles along the northwest side of the island of Kauai, is a picture of natural beauty. The cliffs are speckled with lush green grass, the sand is beautifully light brown, and the clear blue water sparkles in the bright summer sun. Parts of the coast, considered sacred by locals, can be reached by plane, boat, or canoe.
If you’re in the mood for some physical activity, you can hike the Kalalau Trail, an 11-mile hike (22 miles round trip) that runs along much of the coast, leading from Ke’e Beach to Kalalau Beach – both beautiful options to spend the day! Looking for a summer vacation packed with outdoor activities? We’d say the Na Pali Coast is a pretty good option.
Blue Lagoon, Ölüdeniz, Turkey
Don’t let the name of the location Ölüdeniz, which means "dead sea," scare you. It’s called that because the water is so calm!
Furthermore, Ölüdeniz is known for its tranquil, relaxed atmosphere. No wild nightlife, no drunken raves, and no noise disturbances. Just many respectful locals, a rich culture, and plenty of beach activities you can enjoy in and around the Blue Lagoon! Paragliding, anyone?
If this sounds like your ideal vacation, we highly recommend visiting! Warm white sand, calm blue water, and maybe a boat trip in between – what more could you want?
